Questions
The things people ask first.
If yours is not here, call us on (813) 749-6823 and ask.
What is Halotherapy?
The Salt Room and Sauna utilizes a halogenerator to grind and crush 99.99% Pure Grade Sodium Chloride (salt) into micronized particles that are dispersed into a room that works to aid respiratory concerns and skin conditions. If there is no halogenerator, there is no halotherapy.
Is halotherapy safe?
It is completely safe. It is 100% natural, drug-free, non-invasive therapy with no side effects or hazards.
Who benefits from halotherapy?
It benefits adults and children.
For children, halotherapy is not only safe, but also is highly recommended. The treatment is suitable for children of any age, as young as one-month old. Children respond to the therapy quicker than adults .
Can I use it as a prevention therapy?
The dry salt naturally absorbs allergens, toxins and foreign substances in sinuses, lungs and throughout your respiratory tract. Therefore, having Halotherapy on a regular basis may work to keep you healthier by cleansing your system and even killing the virus and germs that have not found their way into your bloodstream yet.
Furthermore, salt is a natural anti-inflammatory. Most of the time, when you fall ill with a cold or flu, your nasal passages, sinuses and respiratory tract will become inflamed. Continual coughing and nose blowing often makes the inflammation even worse. During the Halotherapy session, you breath in the salt which helps to reduce the inflammation making it easier to breath and helps move the mucus out. Thus, even after you are sick, the cold or flu symptoms you are experiencing are often not as severe with Halotherapy.
Isn’t salt bad for you?
The concern about the intake of salt due to diet, high blood pressure and hypertension is related to an intake thru the digestive system. Halotherapy is different, because it is associated with the respiratory system. The amount of micro salt particles entering your respiratory system is extremely low, so it doesn’t present any risk to your health. It kills bacteria, reduces inflammation and expands airways.
What type of salt is used?
Only 99.99% pure grade sodium chloride (salt) is to be used with halogenerators. Other types of salts are often used as a décor, but only 99.99% pure pharmaceutical grade sodium chloride is used in the halogenerator.
How many sessions do I need and how often?
For best results, we recommend a series of treatments. Some individuals prefer to use halotherapy as a continuous protective measure.
